MNZ - The Raw Manuka Honey Experts
Manuka Honey – a unique gift from Nature.
Manuka Honey is derived from the native New Zealand Manuka shrub (Leptospermum scoparium), which has thrived in the country’s pristine and rugged landscapes for over 80 million years. Thanks to New Zealand’s geographical isolation, its flora and fauna have evolved in remarkable and unique ways. The Manuka shrub, which can grow into a sizable tree, has long been celebrated for its exceptional natural properties and bio-activity. Indigenous Maori communities have traditionally utilized the Manuka bush for its beneficial qualities. Honey bees, introduced to New Zealand by Thomas Cook in 1839, began producing this now-famous honey. While the unique traits of Manuka Honey have been recognized for decades, the scientific explanation behind its extraordinary qualities wasn’t unveiled until 2006.
